    We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team at our Sunrise Branch!


    The primary role of this position is to make a difference in our neighbors financial lives This is accomplished by directing the operations of the Accounting Department including preparing financial reports and assisting with annual plan and operating budgets; ensuring complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial and accounting records for the credit union and preparing analysis of operations for management.


    Major Duties and Responsibilities:


    • Provide outstanding service to each internal and external member as defined by

    • our Service Standards and Promises.

    • Oversees the daily operations of the Accounting Department.

    • Works on tasks/projects assigned by the CFO

    Hires, trains, directs, and evaluates employee performance within the department recommends promotions/transfers and salary adjustment.

    As a member of the Management Team, assists in the formulation/execution of Credit Union policies, objectives and programs.

    Works with auditors/examiners on year-end and comprehensive audits


    Performance Measurements:

    1. Achieves monthly/quarterly/annual goals, projects and tasks as expected and on deadline. Ensures all Accounting Department reconciliations/job functions are completed accurately and on deadline.
    2. Develops, writes and coordinates various credit union policies in a quality and timely manner.
    3. Provide great service to internal and external members every time, lives our service promises, wows members with great service, and achieve service goals as measured by the internal service survey and other measurement tools.
    4. Ensures communications, collateral materials and other projects are effective, on time and within budget guidelines.
    5. Ensures that written materials are accurate, grammatically correct, error-free, persuasive and interesting
    6. Performs public speaking duties effectively and persuasively. Fosters relationships with outside vendors as they pertain to Accounting Department functions.
    7. Stays abreast of all CU products/services and related benefits.
    8. Keeps supervisor informed of key issues; works effectively with others in the Credit Union


    Maintain knowledge with training:

    BSA Compliance every employee is required to uphold the credit union’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering policies and procedures. Specific

    functions with BSCU will take into consideration the awareness of unusual or suspicious activity that is relevant to the department. In addition to any other assigned training

    courses, online BSA and OFAC courses must be completed at least annually, as made available by the Training and/or Compliance Department. Maintains comprehensive

    knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending and Credit Card Act.


    Knowledge and Skills:

    Experience: Five to eight years of similar or related experience.

    Education: Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field). CPA preferred.

    Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. Excellent oral and written communication skills are critical.

    Additional Skills: Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office applications.
